today's activities

This morning we went to the park and met up with a few friends.

Cosette enjoyed the slides. She's pretty independent and marched all over the playground, yet she never ran away (like a certain big brother did at her age).

The kids found a few toys in the sand to play with.

The park pools opened today, and Henri did a little swimming.

He and his friend, Caeden, found a tree branch that they carried around the playground.

Cosette loves being outside.

Upon leaving the park, we stopped at the library, paid another fine (I don't like to renew books until the day they're due...sometimes I forget*), and picked up some more books I had on hold--books to read to the kiddos and books on curriculum and education for myself to look over.

*With all the free books to read, paying a few cents in fines every few weeks is worth it.

Cosette is napping. Henri played in his pool outside. Then we read some books. Now Henri is napping.

I think I'll go look over those books.

No, wait... wait... Yep, Cosette is awake.

Ah, it was a great day! It was such gorgeous weather and nice company. Ava and I stayed until two. She made a new friend. And then later she scored a fat lip and a welt on her shin in her first playground brawl. Of course, she didn't make a peep about her injuries, and I didn't notice until I saw her swollen lip hours later and then the swollen shin in the tub tonight.

Of course Cosette is up...it would be too easy if they would both sleep at the same time!
