here we go a wading

Now that its summer, the hatchlings have spent much of their time in their swimsuits at various wading pools near our home.Look carefully in the picture above, and you will see a certain big brother far away in the background.

While both hatchlings have enjoyed the water, I've been delighted to see Henri jump right in now that he's more used to it. Cosette enjoys the water too if I'm near her. She'll venture out into the water by herself if there is a zero depth level to the wading pool. She tripped a lot on our last adventure and scraped up her knees and face on the cement--not too bad though; it's just a little red. It also didn't help when her brother tried to pull her into the water by dragging her across the cement. Ouch! She's a tough girl though and got over the drama quickly.
Her super cute swimsuit was sent to us by my husband's parents.

We also ventured to a local evening parade this week. I was surprised to find that Henri didn't know what a parade was as I described to him what we were going to do. We've taken him to parades before, but I can't remember the last time we took him (maybe last summer or maybe it was even 2 years ago). The parade was very long, so we didn't stay for the whole thing since it was past the hatchlings' bedtime when we left.

Before the parade started, Henri enjoyed standing on the steps near the door of a coffee shop greeting everyone who came in and out. He also did a few tap numbers for show. He soon made friends with a 2 year old boy and his mom. Henri spent the rest of the parade hanging out with them dancing up and down the sidewalk and occasionally glancing at the parade and grabbing candy.

Lastly, I picked up some ice cream cones for Henri since they were free with purchase of some ice cream at our local grocery store this week. He's been asking for an ice cream cone for a while now, and I can't remember if he's had a cone before. At least I know he's never had a cone in our home. So here's Henri eating his first ice cream cone at our home.

Hey Yvette!

What wading pools do you recommend? The one in the pictures looks like a lot of fun! I'm trying to find some fun wading pools to take Levi to.

What fun pictures...I enjoyed seeing them AND reading about the events going on in the lives of the Hatchlings! Those pools look so fun! I wish that we had more stuff like that around here.

And, now I am thinking that I need to have some ice cream...thanks for the idea, Henri! :-)

Looks like a great pool! I spy some other friends in the background too. We'll have to meet you there sometime soon.

Parades and icecream too! I love summer.
