Sometimes I ask questions in my blog, and I don't follow-up on what I've learned or decided to do about the matter. So here is where I stand on a few issues right now.
Vaccinating my Children
And also this post.
Because I'm on the "trying to learn about homeschooling, private schooling, and public schooling options" bandwagon right now, I've dropped researching the vaccination topic any further. My children are done with their vaccination schedule until kindergarten, and they will get their scheduled vaccinations then. I may look into it again later. If the Lord were to bless us with more children, then I will for sure look into it again. If I had a newborn right now, I would follow a delayed, yet mostly complete schedule. I would not give my newborn the Hep B in the hospital. Even our doctor thought the Hep A would be unnecessary for our young children. Right now, I am pro-vaccines because I wouldn't want to put my children at risk to get sick, but I would take the time to spread out the shots. However, because I don't feel like I've researched as completely as I would like on the issue, my views could easily change.
Reading The Shack
Nope, not going to do it. I'm a really slow reader. Don't have time. Reading other things.
My car
Have I mentioned that it's all fixed? Praise the Lord!
Is Henri's wall fixed yet?
Nope. Johnny & I need to discuss if it's a "do ourselves" project or "hire someone else" project. Knowing our lack of handiness, it will probably mean that we will try to find someone else to do it. Because we lack serious skills.
I'm off to read more on homeschooling because that's the schooling option I'm the least familiar with and would require the most from me (I think).

one little plug from a homeschool mom: it does take a lot, in one sense, but the gift of being with your children day in and day out gives so much back. once they were to start full-time classroom-setting school, i think you would find that it took a lot from you to have them gone that much. i've had some non-homeschooling moms say to me, "i could never homeschool because i couldn't handle being with my kids that much". that's probably a good sign you shouldn't homeschool. but you don't seem like one of those mom. :) i want to be in my kids lives more than i could be if they were gone at school all day. and besides, homeschooling is really fun!
just my two cents worth. (not at all to rip on classroom-school families - you have to follow the Lord's leading for your family.) but that's part of why we homeschool. :)
i'd be happy to recommend good resources for your further study, if you need them.
Another random homeschool thought...if you wanted, there are homeschool families at church that would love to have you tag along for a day so you could see homschooling "in action" and ask any questions. I did this with two families and it really de-mystified it for me. Plus, many times others would say, if you have any questions, feel free to ask, but I couldn't even think of questions. Once I saw homeschooling more for myself, then I had questions.
One more thing a wise homeschool mama told me: "Just take one year at a time; especially if you are unsure whether or not this is right for your family, don't commit to, say, homeschooling through high school. Just one year at a time."
It was good to see you last week amidst the whirlwind of activities!
