So I'm taking pictures of the kids in the crib this morning:

Henri told me today, "Mama, my hair is getting long. I need a haircut."
I said, "Okay, when do you want me to cut your hair."
Henri: "How 'bout tomorrow?"

Cosette has so many cute summer clothes (thanks Nani and cousin Andy & Heather) that I'm a little sad that we live in Minnesota and that the weather will soon be changing. It's too bad that she probably won't be fitting in them next summer. I'll be passing them onto my sisters Kristin and/or Jaime if they have girls this November. I enjoy seeing other kids wearing the clothes my kids used to wear...brings back memories...
sniff, sniff.

Below is Henri pretending to be a baby (a new favorite past-time of his) by putting his mouth on the crib rail. Today, he told me, "I'm the same age as Cosette." Am I not giving him enough attention? Anyway, here's Cosette pulling herself to her knees as she likes to do in her crib...or is she?

I soon noticed that she was in fact not on her knees. But that she was standing! (A little surprising to me since Henri was 11 months when he pulled up to stand for the first time.)

"Cosette, you're standing! Good job, Baby Girl!"

And below is Cosette's big brother in her face saying, "Good job, Cosette!" But she didn't really appreciate it.

Cosette is off to the doctor tomorrow for her 9 month well-baby check-up (originally scheduled last week, but her doctor called-in sick).

Those "in your face" moments always make Julia cry. GREAT pictures!
Wow, nice long storytelling post!!! Yeah for pulling to a stand, Cosette! Let's see some haircut photos tomorrow for you, Henri!
I love the moments of Henri's "congrats" and the effect it had on Cosette. We've had many of those moments over the past few months. Why do big brothers insist on saying "good job" while an inch from little sisters' faces? Something about domination, perhaps? Joshy also went through an "I'm a baby too" phase. I don't have any big insights about it, but he has stopped. Now he pretends to be the neighbor's dog.
